Student Employee of the Year

It is that time of the year! Please nominate your student employee superstars as SIU’s student employee of the year. SIU’s winner will then be nominated to the state level with the potential of moving on to the regional and national levels.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Student employees must have worked a minimum of six months part-time (or three months full-time) during the selection period, which is from January through May.
  • All student employees (both FWS and non-FWS) who meet the above criteria are eligible.
  • Graduate Assistants and Teaching Assistants are ineligible for Student Employee of the Year.

Students will be evaluated on the eight National Association of Colleges and Employers Core Competencies:

  1. Communication
  2. Digital Technology
  3. Problem Solving
  4. Professionalism/Work Ethic
  5. Intercultural Fluency
  6. Career Management
  7. Leadership
  8. Teamwork/Collaboration
